2020 Year of the Rat; Celebrating the Lunar New Year Festival

January 19, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Auspicious colors, cheerful faces, joyous music, warm wishes, exotic food and games. . . and a festival atmosphere which you wouldn’t mistake for anything else but celebration for Chinese Spring Festival! Every year in late January and early February when Chinese New Year usually occurs on modern calendar, the whole country of China is in a festival mood for celebration. For fifteen consecutive days, from the Chinese New Year’s Day till the Lantern Festival, Chinese people gather with families and friends to celebrate traditional activities which can be traced to as early as 2,000 years ago.

This year, you wouldn’t need to endure a 7,000 + miles trip to China to appreciate an authentic experience of the traditional celebration. All will be captured as much as possible through a four-and-a-half-hours long selected presentation of spectacular cultural activities, hosted by Minnesota International Chinese School (MICS). Please mark your calendar with the date and venue above and join us for the fun of an authentic celebration. You will bring home not only exotic Chinese food, artifacts, but an authentic experience and a pleasant memory which will linger long after the event until the arrival of the next Chinese New Year!
