Being Somali Panel Discussion

September 19, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

What are the biggest challenges facing the Somali community today? What can we do to bridge cultural gaps between Somali and White Minnesotans?

Being Somali is the third in a series of panel discussions in conjunction with the Being Human: Stories from Humans of Minneapolis exhibit at Hennepin History Museum. Each event is meant to foster understanding and awareness between the people in our community.

Being Somali features a panel of people who have been highlighted as part of the Humans of Minneapolis storytelling project:

Saciido Shaie, Activist
Ecram Abde, Medical Professional
Suud Olat, Community Organizer

They will share their lived experiences as they relate to being Somali in Minnesota and beyond. The conversation will be moderated by HOM Founder & Executive Director Stephanie Glaros.

Light refreshments will be served.

Event is free but space is limited, so reserve your seat today!

Visiting the Museum at this time does require the use of stairs.
