Swedish Genealogy Workshop

Are you interested in researching your Swedish ancestors? The world of genealogy is changing quickly and new technologies have made it easier than ever to build your Swedish family tree.
Instructors Dee and Ray Kleinow will teach the basics of Swedish genealogy during this American Swedish Institute workshop by demonstrating how to use Swedish databases, do internet research and access Swedish church parish record databases such as Genline, Archives Digital, EmiWeb, etc. Leave knowing the steps needed for successful genealogical research – the records used and how to access them, how to analyze the data found and continue with your own research. Queries from attendees may also be researched as time allows, so bring your questions. Your Swedish family tree awaits!
Please bring a bag lunch or plan to purchase one from FIKA at the American Swedish Institute. The required textbook, “Your Swedish Roots, can be purchased through The American Swedish Institute Museum Store (612-870-3364); please purchase the textbook prior to the day of the workshop, because the Museum Store does not open until 10 a.m. (and the workshop starts at 9!)
