Viking University Day II

Join us for a morning full of lectures by experts in the field of Viking-Age society. Our spring Viking University Day was such a hit we’ve decided to do another! While the first heralded in “The Vikings Begin” exhibition, this fall event celebrates the closing of the exhibition at the end of the month.
Our presenters and their talks include:
• Charlotte Hedenstierna-Jonson, Uppsala University – “Real People from the Viking Age”
• Birgitta Wallace, Parks Canada – “The L’Anse aux Meadows Viking Site: The Gateway to Vinland and Its People”
• Jesse L. Byock, P.h.D., UCLA – “Viking Archaeology in Iceland: The Role of Old Norse and Sagas in Excavation Discovery”
• Emily Peschel, University of Calgary – “Migration at the Center of the Viking World”
