Irish immigrants began to arrive in Minnesota in the mid-19th Century, and have played a prominent role in St. Paul politics and civic life.  Irish heritage is celebrated at the Irish Fair, held every August, and the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. Popular Irish pubs and restaurants include O’Gara’s Bar and Grill, Kieran’s Irish Pub and The Dubliner Pub.
