Recession bites: Azia restaurant bites back

by Jeremy Iggers | June 4, 2009 • This press release just in from Thom Pham of Azia: “We have restructured our menus to better reflect the economic times. Please join us for the same generous portions, quality and exceptional service that you’ve come to love over the years. We look forward to seeing you and are always grateful for the opportunity to be part of one of your most enjoyable experiences in life…food.

I pressed for details, and marketing director Nick Grzechowiak sent a few examples:
Steak Green Curry, formerly $23.95 is now $18.95
Shrimp Pad Thai, was $23.95 is now $18.95
Walleye with Jalapeno Basil Sauce reduced from $23.95 to $19.95 (generous portion to fill 2)
And, says Grzechowiak, they have knocked a couple bucks off the price of specialty sushi rolls.
Azia also has a new lower-priced lunch menu, with entrees from $10.99-$12.99, and sushi lunches from $15.99-$17.99.
